Memorial Day is very late in May, typically a time warm enough to plant crops without risking frost. While the US was mainly an agricultural nation, this meant that school would end for the year so that kids could help with planting and harvesting. Also, late May is only about three weeks from the summer solstice, meaning that it is usually warm and summery. So, Memorial Day is said to be the unofficial kickoff to the summer.
Memorial Day, as the name implies, was established to create a day of remembrance to honor soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the U.S. Civil War. Our culture today, however, associates the holiday with the start of summer activities, like barbecues and going to the beach. Memorial Day is always on a Monday, which makes it always a long weekend.
This occasion is considered by many Americans as the unofficial start of summer. People rejoice in the fact that it is a day off work to sit by the seaside or barbecue with family and friends. The three-day Memorial Day weekend isn’t just a holiday weekend for you to play and entertain. It is a day to honor all those service personnel of the Armed Forces, and who lost their lives for their country, as well as May which honors all service personnel.
Because you will take part in a lot of fun, exciting activities, a makeover should be done beforehand. Who doesn’t want to look good at a special event, right?
Which beauty trend is your favorite? Hairstyle? Makeup look? Fashion? For me, I will choose nail art. Your nails are as much an accessory as your handbag, shoes, and jewelry. So, it is important to keep them looking chic and on-trend. You will get so many compliments on the new manicure set wherever you go or whoever you’re with!
America without her soldiers would be like God without His angels. Happy Memorial Day! Let’s take advantage of this occasion to treat your hands and your nails properly!
ACTIVITIES THAT YOU CAN DO DURING THE THREE-DAY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
GO TO THE BEACH
Summer is coming, bringing sunshine, seasonal cuisine, and a hankering to get to the beach. There’s nothing more quintessentially summer than going to the beach — swimming in the water, and building sandcastles.
For lengthy beach getaways, plan for what refreshments, meals, and drinks you’ll enjoy – and where and how you’ll enjoy them – while there.
GET A THEMED MANICURE
Before attending any trip or party, you should choose your outfit, do your hair, apply your makeup, and make sure your manicure is ready for the Memorial Day Weekend. Memorial Day nail designs are something that many of you are looking for already even though the holiday is still yet to come.
Memorial Day is a holiday, and themed nail art is pretty much the best thing ever! Memorial Day nail designs just like all the other themed nail ideas are more than relevant when the holiday is coming closer.
